Sheldon Weisgrau
Sheldon Weisgrau is a Senior Consultant with Rural Health Consultants. He has nineteen years of experience in health care planning, policy, and administration and has spent the past thirteen years working exclusively on rural health system development issues.
Sheldon is a nationally recognized expert in rural health network and Critical Access Hospital (CAH) development and has worked with a large number of states, health care systems, hospitals, and communities in development of CAHs and the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program.
Sheldon has also worked with clients on systems development, feasibility analysis, community needs assessment, strategic planning, grant development, compliance, and health professional recruitment and immigration issues.
Prior to joining RHC, Sheldon was the primary rural heath contact for CMS (formerly HCFA) and was the national director of a number of programs dealing with development of alternative health care financing and delivery models for rural areas. He also has experience in policy and planning at the state level and in hospital administration. Sheldon received a B.S. from Cornell University and a Master's Degree in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
